Spring Wireless

Located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and financed by investors including Intel and Ericsson, Spring Wireless is a mobile market leader in Latin America with deployed solutions in 150 companies throughout Latin America and Europe. Spring Wireless uses SQL Anywhere Studio’s UltraLite and MobiLink to power its Project PDA Direct Sales, a financial services solution built for the Brazilian unit of Citibank. Project PDA Direct Sales streamlines the customer acquisition process and is the first mobile/wireless service for business process automation at Citibank worldwide. Spring Wireless also developed mSales, a solution that powers mobile devices for sales representatives of Concha Y Toro Winery, giving them easy access to key information while on the road.

McDonald's Corporation

McDonald’s is a leading global foodservice retailer with more than 30,000 restaurants serving nearly 50 million people in more than 119 countries each day. McDonald’s leverages M-Business Anywhere in its Global Collection Tool Application, which provides detailed surveys on handheld devices and laptops so that operations experts can inspect and evaluate each restaurant’s ability to meet McDonald’s quality, service and cleanliness standards. The application, deployed in 11 languages and on multiple platforms, is being used in 24 countries with 1,900 users and is expected to grow to over 2,700 in the coming months.

Tennant Company

Minneapolis, Minn., based Tennant Company is a leading manufacturer of indoor/outdoor cleaning solutions and coatings. Using Afaria, Tennant developed a wireless field-service application called ServiceLINK that runs on ruggedized tablet PCs technicians can easily carry with them wherever they go. ServiceLINK enables Tennant’s 370 field-service technicians to access past service and support files, price and print repair orders onsite, obtain immediate information on parts inventory and availability, and more. Tennant also uses Afaria to monitor and remotely diagnose tablets that may have problems and distribute software updates as needed. The solution has nearly eliminated manual, paper-based work for Tennant’s service reps, who report that the application is "the best thing since indoor plumbing."

FarmWizard Limited

Located in Jordanstown, Ireland, FarmWizard provides a software solution based on M-Business Anywhere technology that makes farming easier and more trackable using handheld devices. The FarmWizard PDA solution allows farmers to input livestock data in the field and synchronize it with FarmWizard’s hosted Web-based application. Prior to FarmWizard, farmers would record information via a paper-based system and transfer the information by hand to a database every evening. The new solution saves farmers time and money by managing and maintaining farm records. Not only does the system help eliminate human error, but it has also been instrumental in helping farmers comply with European legislation requiring extensive records to help track outbreaks of Mad Cow and Foot and Mouth diseases.
